My Name is Bill, and I have been a Christian since November 22, 1958 when I was 13 years old. I have started this site because I realize that many Christian young people are facing the same challenges today that I faced many years ago. Those challenges are about who I am, why I am here, where I came from, and where I am going. Over many years, I have come to find answers to those questions, and I hope that what I will share on this site will help you.
Sometime around 2012-2016, I was looking at the Sunday School literature our church used for our youth. It was good literature because it dealt with many of the practical issues youth face, but it was very lacking in good lessons on the basics of the Christian faith. God spoke to me during that time and told me He wanted me to start a website for young people. I had no idea as to how to start a website, but I did have facebook so I began putting some of my thoughts on that, but I never got any response from my ''friends''.
In 2018, my wife and I with our middle grandchild took a trip to visit with our youngest son, Jon, and his family. I took my laptop along because Jon already had a website, and I hoped he could help me get started. He did help me and he was instrumental in putting my thoughts on the website for the next 8 or more months. Stevens Family Ministries LLC became the parent of the website. It was and still is my desire to have family members add to the value of the site. Jon was the architect of the site, I began writing short papers and my wife, Alice, proofread the papers before they went online. I am pleased to announce that another member of the family is starting to make contributions under the heading of Doctrine in the Doctrine and Theology section. Rev. Matt Stevens is a cousin, a seminary graduate, who has pastored three Presbyterian churches. I am sure you will be blessed by reading his papers.
Recently, I decided to do away with the old BC and AD definitions of years. Why, you ask? Because I never studied Latin and have no idea what AD means. I decided I like the new BCE and CE terms. It is generally stated that those designations mean ''before the current era'' and ''the current era''. However, in my website, the terms shall mean ''Before the Christian Era'' and the ''Christian Era''. So, please don't think I have become a heretic! I hope young people will appreciate this since they are the ones who will primarily use these terms.
Best Wishes!
